The Waseca Soccer Club is committed to giving area youth an introduction to the great game of soccer, the opportunity to improve individual and team skills; and preparing players to be competitive at the high school level and beyond.

Uniforms are NOT required for 5U-8U players.

T-shirts (size Youth M) will be provided to all players that register BEFORE Sunday, April 14th 2024.

Each player must have shin guards, socks that completely cover the shin guards, and athletic shoes. Soccer cleats are recommended, but not required. Football, baseball, and softball shoes with toe cleats are NOT allowed.

Cost: $50 per player for 5U and 6U (DOB 2019 and 2018) and $75 per player for 7U and 8U (DOB 2017 and 2016)
 

Season: Our in-house recreational program begins on Tuesday, May 14th and concludes on Saturday, June 15th.
 

Practices: Practice is from 6:00-7:00 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays on the fields behind the Waseca Community Arena. Please bring a water bottle. If you have a soccer ball, please bring it too! 5U-8U use a #3 soccer ball.

Games: Scrimmages are held on Saturdays from 9:00-10:00 AM on the fields behind the Waseca Community Arena. Games are 4v4 with no goalkeepers. Scrimmages are 4x12 minute quarters. Scores are not recorded as the goal is to introduce these young players to the game of soccer and have fun! All players receive equal playing time.

Tournaments: The 7U-8U teams will participate in the Mankato SoccerFest tournament on Saturday, June 8th. Please let your player's coach know if your player is UNABLE to participate prior to Saturday, May 17th.

Teams: Teams are created based upon birth year. Teams may have players from different birth years depending on enrollment numbers. Teams will be co-ed.

Coaches: Volunteer coaches are vital to the success of the players and the Waseca Soccer Club. We need volunteers! We will not be able to provide this in-house recreational program to the youth in our communities without volunteer coaches. We do not want to have to refund registrations. If you are interested in coaching, please contact the Directors of Coaching. You do not need to have experience playing soccer or coaching! A pre-season coaching clinic is provided to all volunteer coaches as well as a coaching guide to help coaches create a fun environment where players can improve their skills. Coaches are required to pass a background check and complete SafeSport and online concussion training. First-time coaches with a player participating in the rec league will be refunded for one (1) player's registration fee.

Each team would also benefit from a volunteer to assist the coach with communication, snacks, etc. Please consider helping your player’s coach!

The Waseca Soccer Club (WSC) uses registration fees to support club operations and all activities. These fees support SMSL registration fees, referee costs and training, coaches training and supplies, field equipment and maintenance, invitational and play off tournament entry fees and various administrative costs.
 

Early registration allows the club to plan team formation, order equipment and supplies, and commit resources for coaches and referee training. Because of the need for early planning, registration fees are non-refundable. Limited exceptions to this policy will be considered by the WSC Board during the time period in between Player Registration and Team submission to SMSL. These refund situations will be considered by the Board:
      1) Family/player moves out of the Waseca area, making it not practical to play with the WSC;
      2) Player becomes physically unable to play soccer due to serious injury or illness.
Approval of refund requests will be at the discretion of the WSC board.

Refund requests are not guaranteed to be approved. Any direct fees incurred by the WSC (SMSL registration fees) will be deducted from the refunded amount.
